Two minutes after handing his side the lead Ronaldo has been sent off for a second bookable offence. The Portuguese battles for the ball in the box with Umtiti and goes down. He wants a penalty and initially it looks as though he has won his appeal. However, the referee brandishes the yellow card at him for simulation and the red quickly follows, sending him on his way. He's furious with the decision, although had vanity not got the better of him after his goal, Ronaldo would still be on the pitch.
