The Monkey Business: Little Macaques Serve Food At This Restaurant - The Quint

This is the extraordinary Japanese restaurant where monkeys serve drinks and wait tables. The Kayabukiya Tavern, in Utsunomiya, Tochigi prefecture, has been employing macaques for 29 years - after a monkey called Yat-chan, belonging to restaurant owner, Kaoru Otsuka, started copying human staff voluntarily. At three-years-old another monkey, called Fuku-chan, started copying Yat-chan and now 14 years later he has become the star attraction at the establishment.
