A video of a king cobra throwing up six eggs after swallowing seven of them in a hurry has surfaced in India. The incident, caught on camera on August 3, happened in Mayurbhanj district of Orissa, India.
The snake could be seen struggling to spit out the first one and then struggling to pull forward others lodged farther inside its stomach.
Then one after another, the greedy reptile throws up six eggs of the seven it had swallowed minutes ago.
The incident happened in Baldhia area that comes under the jurisdiction of the Similipal Tiger Reserve.
The species of snake is found in forests of Southeast Asia and are considered the most venomous snakes.
Its one sting contains enough venom to kill 20 people. King cobras that are mostly found in the rain forests of India and feed mostly on other snakes.
Small mammals, lizards and eggs are also their favourite food. According to wildlife experts, this is the only species that builds a nest for its eggs. The king corbras are known to eat their own eggs to regain energy lost during reproduction.
