La Purisima Mission is a beautifully restored mission in Lompoc California. Founded in 1797, La Purisima Mission State park is home to historic buildings, a 2,000 acre park and 25 miles of trails perfect for taking hike or horseback riding.
Park hours are from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Free guided tours are offered Wednesdays through Sundays at 1pm.
During Mission Life events, the park re-creates the experience of living in the 1820's with weaving, pottery and candlemaking, blacksmithing, leatherwork and cooking demonstrations throughout the day.
