Undefeated heavyweight boxing king Anthony Joshua delivered the goods earlier today (Sat., Sept. 22, 2018) live on DAZN from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England, when he put a stop to Russian veteran Alexander Povetkin via seventh-round TKO to retain his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.
In what was a close fight in the early going, Joshua eventually pulled ahead in the middle rounds. After finding a home for his left hook in the sixth, Joshua went back to it in the seventh. He blasted Povetkin with a left hook followed by a right hand that put the Russian heavyweight on the canvas. After stumbling back to his feet Povetkin was hit with a flurry of punches culminating with another right hand that finally ended it.

With this performance, Joshua proves yet again that he is the baddest heavyweight on the planet. This knockout victory not only extends Joshua’s unbeaten streak to 22 fights, but it gets him the finish that eluded him in his previous outing against Joseph Parker back in March.
It was quite the performance for Joshua as he hands Povetkin his first career knockout loss in front of the same crowd who saw him put out Wladimir Klitschko last year.
