Match fixing suspicions emerge after crazy own goal in Ukraine
There were some seriously strange goings on in the Ukraine second division on Wednesday after a match was decided by one of the craziest own goals you will ever see.
Obolоn’-Brоvar hosted Bukоvyna in the Ukraine second division – the Persha Liga.
Both sides are in mid table in the Ukraine second division and have very little left to play for this season.
Obolon’-Brovar 1 – Bukovyna 0
There are enough games of the season for Bukovyna to be dragged into the relegation zone or a play-off game at the bottom of the table.
Which makes the match winning goal even more surprising.
With three minutes remaining the score was 0-0.
Crazy Igor Boychuk own goal
An attack down the left hand side from Obolon’-Brovar saw them work their way into the Bukovyna box.
The Bukovyna keeper palmed the ball out into the path of defender Igor Boychuk.
Who then inexplicably simply banged the ball into his own net.
Boychuk looked suitably distraught but this was a seriously shady own goal…
